And the feet - the foot for the 28 is noticeably narrower and lines up perfectly with the feed dogs.
I wonder if this is because it's a UK made machine instead of a US made machine.
I just checked and mine looks just like the first picture and I can see that putting a zz foot on it causes it not to make good contact with the feed dogs. I was using a zz foot because it measured an accurate 1/4" which I was looking for. Also the gentleman that I purchased it from said that he had gotten it in England while he was stationed there so I believe it would be a UK machine. Thanks for everyone's help. This is such a great board for helpful instruction.
