Thanks for all of the helpful hints and encouraging words. I was really surprised when I read foufymas typewriter links. My keys are green too under all of the grime.! They looked black! I was so surprised and excited. If this puppy ends up working well it well be my one and only. I can't imagine having fifty of them laying around but I am up to about thirty sewing machines...sigh. I do have 30 sewing machines though. I am not sure if I want to make the monster desk a sewing desk or a typewriter desk. I will have to think about that for awhile.
Half are going to be rehomed but I have to sand down and finish the cases and paint the tables but it has been so cold lately I am waiting for some warmer weather to arrive. I think I have a dozen machines I want to keep for me and that's plenty. I will post pics of all, I promise.
