I made these to hang on the wall and used canvas(which I made into artwork) as locking swing doors. I have added much more thread to my stash than pictured. You can place these anywhere in the home on a wall and they look nice. I put nails on each shelf to hang coordinating bobbin on. I took 3/4 inch plastic tubing from hardware store and cut/slit to fit the bobbins so they don't unravel.
