The Crayon Box quilts are great, but off topic, I believe. If you do a google image search for BQ quilts you are sure to see a big variety. I think scrappy blocks of almost any design would benefit from this setting, but I'd probably stick with just two fabrics for the framework pieces because they set up a repeated design throughout the quilt and act as sort of an interesting sashing for the big blocks that would give it some control.
