With the subzero temps, I was worried about my small dogs' paws getting frostbite. I made some booties by cutting a rectangle 2.5x the length of their paws (just above the ankle). Folded and seamed up the sides. Took a paper punch and punched two holes on each side of the open end of the bootie, and threaded yarn through the holes. Tied them on and it worked.
Did you use anything besides the batting to keep it from getting wet? My daughter has 3 dogs and 2 of them love being out in the snow but with this old they are only out a few minutes but when they come on you can tell their paws hurt from being so cold.
