The quilt in your avatar has at least that many bis/bias edges <g> and it looks like you did fine with it.
Sewing bias edges is a good time to learn to let go of control issues. It is one of those times when you GUIDE the fabric rather than WRESTLING it to keep it in line ... a light hand, and you will have not problems with either type of edge. <wave>
cute, though ... I didn't catch it until you pointed it out. LOL
Plus I would starch the living daylights out of it first before cutting! From doing OBWs I've learned that bias is my FRIEND - sometimes the little bit of streeeetchhhhh is what I need to make everything maaaaatchhhh! :lol:

I love your version of the runner with the sashing! Have to try that! :-D
