Flip your pedal over and see what sort of "feet" it has. Perhaps the liner needs different positioning or something?

Just be careful not to stitch over the liner. I tried this and stitched it in within less than a minute.
That said, I can stitch the gloves I'm wearing into a quilt too, so it might just be me. Thankfully that time it was the web part between thumb and finger so I missed me.
