The only thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is maybe a small bit of lint is holding the bobbin out just enough to cause trouble. There could also be a bit of lint in the tension disks causing the disks not to set properly. The lint in the tension disks can be cleaned out easily by running a piece of dental floss through them a few times. It doesn't take much lint to mess up the whole works.
