Default Raspberry, orange and lime sherbet

I started this quilt in the fall of 2011. I bought a groupon to get a discount on a class at the store quiltfabric.com. I'd been quilting on my own, without any formal instruction, for a couple years prior to the class.
The Groupon included a discount on fabric. quiltfabric.com ,
http://www.quiltfabric.com/, has a wide selection of batik fabrics, which I'd never before considered in sewing quilts. The selection is almost overwhelming. I chose fabrics whose colors reminded me of rainbow sherbet on a hot day- so refreshing.
My instructor was Chris Sass, the owner of quiltfabric.com. One of her first words to me was, "You need a new sewing machine". True enough, I've had mine for about 24 years. I will start a new job on Monday, and maybe i'll use some of my earnings to get a new Janome.
My husband and I really like the vibrant colors on the quilt, which is now on our bed. I plan to try another batik fabric quilt later this year.
Thanks for looking.
