Mama, Candace is -MUCH- more experienced that I am - I don't know for sure, but I am pretty sure she is a quilting wizard!!! So her experience counts for a lot more than mine.

I am an Amateur Everything. I do have a Supermatic also, though and I LOVE it. I recently did some FM stitching also on my little Grasshopper, and am -madly- in love with that machine! The Elna foot and the snap-no plate worked really well for me.

The Elna foot which came with your machine should suffice; do you have a little snap on plate that covers the feed dogs? They are only about $5 to buy.

Try it and let us know! I do like the Elna, but they are also fussy! And we are -ALL- different in what floats our boat, too, so please don't put -too- much stock in what I say. I really am not an expert.

p.s. Mine does have a Presser Foot pressure adjustment; perhaps different (earlier) models did not? I am not sure. Mine is atop the machine, a black disc.
