I agree - a very early VS2 ( VS 2nd edition) that round bobbin winder is rather unique.
It should take the same shuttle and needles as other White VS machines - the hollow bobbins and the shuttle with the pin in, and rather long needles.
You can easily convert this to take top clamp feet - just get the top clamp unit that fits white and slip it on the pressure bar and tighten it up.
Based on the pictures on Needlebar - It will thread from the spool pin, around the little circle guide in the upper right corner of the side face, then down around the tension, back up to the uptake lever on the front face of the machine, then down to the guide right above the needle and then through the needle.
