Ok, so we decided a while ago that the nursery theme for our baby would be Ferngully, raniforest, whether it was a boy or a girl. We would just tweak the theme a bit depending on the gender -more flowers and fairies for a girl, more colourful birds and frogs for a boy... you know.
So, I was thinking about exactly HOW I was going to do my quilt, and I rememberd that I bought this FANTASTIC fabric sometime over a year ago, lol! I have three identical pannels, about 30x40", I guess, and I think instead of using the whole panel as a quilt, I will use elements from this and applique them onto a different background. I have some other totally awesome tropical flower and leaf fabrics that I can use in the quilt too... oohhhh, I'm getting so excited now!!!
I'm going to paint a mural on the wall, in the corner where the crib will be, with scenes and elements from the movie ferngully, and I really want the whole room to blend, I think this is going to be great!!!
Any feedback or suggestions would be much appreciated, I have never worked with applique before...

P.S. the colours are brighter IRL :)
