Dunster said it better that I could have. If you don't need to increase the size, pick a binding that will frame the quilt. It would probably be easiest to have an all over pattern quilted on a longarm. If you wish to quilt it yourself, I would just do vertical and horizontal stitches lining up with the ditches. Kind of like cross hatching but done vertically instead of diagonally. My Grandmother also had Alzheimer's. Such a terrible disease to lose one's memories!!
