I love cream soups and this sounds really good. I've added it to my recipe file. Thanks.

Cream of Cabbage Soup

¼ lb bacon, coarsely chopped
6c. shredded cabbage
½ med. Onion
1 ¼ qt of chicken stock
½ c half and half
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
Grated Swiss Cheese

In stock pot, fry bacon until crisp and set aside. In drippings add cabbage and onion and sauté, stir occasionally (about 10 minutes) or until limp. Add stock and simmer until tender, 10-15 minutes. Transfer 1 ½ c to blender, blend and return to the pot. Stir in half and half, salt and pepper. Serve with bacon and cheese.
This is an amish recipe. Relatively simple and delicious!
