Default Janome Horizon 12000 Screen Sensitivty

I have been working on a UFO - February's project in fact- and have started to machine quilt using my 12000. I love the extra throat space of the machine compared to the tiny throat space on my Viking Emerald 118...BUT...what I don't love is the sensitivity of the display screen on the 12000. When repositioning the quilt, part of the quilt may touch the display screen and the selected stitch pattern is changed. I can not tell you how many times this inadvertently happened and I had to rip out the stitches and start agin- re-selecting the stitch and resetting the stitch length each time.
Is there a way to minimize the sensitivity or lock the screen so when a piece of material swipes the edge of the screen the selected stitch does not change? I had less trouble quilting a king size quilt on my Viking and its little throat. LOL . This is so frustrating. Thanks
