We have a family tradition that the first person to see a spring robin gets a pie of their choice...to be shared, of course. My daughter is carrying the tradition on with her children. Last year I saw one in late January here in Illinois...hubby said it didn't count, must have stayed the winter. The year before I saw on in mid-Feb. But this is the time of year I start to keep my eye out. Generally we see them by early March. It cheers my soul. I'm always eager for winter to end.
