My Mom made my two granddaughters a quilt when they were quite young..bless her heart they were both made with scraps of all kinds of fabric..they were 5" squares...batting was cotton...and she tied them..Now the girls are 25 and 27..and my daughter just gave me both of them to repair.. because those granddaughters loved their quilts more than anything...I had to repair lots of the 5" blocks..and took all the cotton batting out that was all wadded up in the corners..and thin in lots of places...put a new lining on them and retied them...Now they can have another 20 years with their quilts..my mom would be so proud...we lost her in 2004 at 93 yrs old..and I have many of her quilts today...I just hope they love the ones I have made them as much...after they get another 20 yrs older...
