Good gracious! That is a twin of my first sewing machine. I wish I had it back but I sewed the life out of it until the inner gears would not longer work. Traded it in 20 years ago. Congratulations a a fine piece of machinery. It will serve you well.
You mentioned 1958 and I would guess that would be correct. My parents gave me mine for my high school graduation in 1967 and I know it was a used machine. They would never have purchased a new one. Times were difficult and money tight. But I did not mind. The machine was mine, all mine!
