I have done a lot of ripping, but I probably would not have ripped that. My wife used to have the habit of pointing out mistakes and errors to everyone looking at our quilts. I have finally convinced her to not say anything about the mistakes. Most people we show the quilts to don't know enough about quilting to see the mistake. When we look at quilts in quilt shops, etc., we see mistakes and we tell each other that most people don't see them, but we do because we know how it is supposed to be done. We have just finished a king sized quilt for our son that we got one block turned 90 degrees. By the time we caught it, it would have taken a lot of time to rip it out. We decided to let it go and said he probably wouldn't notice it since we're not going to tell him.
I had a teacher in a free motion class tell us that if you make a mistake, wait 24 hours before you decide to rip it out. I have found that is good advice.
