I wouldn't have either but sometimes you do what you have to. I have a hard time robbing parts. If a machine is that complete I want to make it run too.
Maybe someone here can point you toward other makes and models that work too. That vintage of machine with all the knobs and chrome seems fairly high $ compared to other vintages in my market.
