How about a diagonal grid through the squares. This is my goto pattern when I'm stumped and it is easy to do with a walking foot on your DSM.
I think I agree with this -- the pattern is so busy you won't see a lot of the quilting so don't get too detailed. You can do some cool quilting in the borders to make the rest of it pop.
