Since I did not wash the fabric prior to piecing (not the norm for me) I was afraid it may shrink a lot, which it did. I serged the quilt, washed it....squared it up then washed the binding fabric, cut and put it on. I washed it first to prvent issues which was a good thing I did.

It is a beautiful quilt. I have never heard of washing the quilt before binding it. Can you tell me why you do that? I would think it would get all out of square. I thought the binding was to hold it together and keep it square. Anxiously awaiting your rationale.
