my husband makes this soup:
saute italian sausages, he like spicy one, add some bacon and/or kielbasa, add one or two chopped onions, sauté till soft, add thinly sliced cabbage, cook till wilted, then add a tomato sauce or tomato soup mixed with water, bay leaf, caraway seeds optional. simmer 40 -60 min or as long as you like it.
