If you have a 5th wheel, chances are you are going to be travelling other times too, and faced with the same dilemma. Find a basic machine that will let you do the kind of sewing you would like to do, when away from home and be prepared for much happiness for yourself for many more road trips to come!
Exactly what I was going to suggest! Or, if that's not in the budget, as others have suggested, a hand piecing project.
