Even safer than acid-free tissue - which only keeps its properties for 2-3 years - is to line the cedar chest with a sheet (or two) so that the quilts kept there do not touch the wood in any way. folding the excess sheeting on top of the quilts also adds a layer of protection from any light which may creep around the closure of the chest.
