I don't think it is believing a myth as much as it is preference. My fun time is sewing, I so much more enjoy handling cotton than polyester, in fabric, batting, and thread. Time is so short to enjoy sewing so I might as well work with what I enjoy best, which is cotton.
I would never think of telling those who prefer polyester they are wrong, so why is it necessary to criticize those who prefer cotton?
