Default Do you have trouble deciding which way to press seams?

I started this quilt two years ago but it ended up in my UFO box. Quilts for a new granddaughter took precedence. When I laid out the 10 blocks I had finished, I realized the seams would not lock together because the block could not be turned sideways like most of the quilt blocks I make. However, I consider myself lucky to find out the problem before making all 64 blocks. I am now making 5 blocks each of 12 different fabrics. My solution is to make 2 blocks of each fabric pressing the seams one way and the other 2 blocks the other way. Then after lay the quilt out I can finish up the remaining blocks and press the seams depending on the placement. Sure hope this works because I love the quilt pattern. It's called Road to Dixie and I'm using my favorite Kansas Troubles fabrics. I just wish the designers of the pattern would give you a clue on the pressing directions. Have any of you had this problem?
