I was without power for 13 days and live in a total electric house. 8 miles of poles snapped and had to be replaced. Luckily I have a kero stove for emergency heating of 1 room and a propane grill that can be used indoors. I wasn't able to get out for several days and had 2 baby goats in a crate being bottle fed. I learned to knit by lamp light and made a pair of wool socks to keep hubby's feet warm. I learned how much I depend on my technological inventions but that I can survive without.
