I really don't know; but responses such as "if it bothers you, change it" caught my attention. This week, I was making the Lattice Quilt that Jenny Doan demonstrated recently. I was watching what she was doing. She cut a charm square in half on the diagonal and sewed a 1-1/2" strip between the two pieces. After making 62 of those blocks, I looked at the video again and saw that the quilt behind her had different fabric on each side of the strip. Remembering the response that I had read here many times, I knew it would bother me. I am now an expert at ripping. I sewed different fabric on the top of each block. I was thankful that people had given that advice to others. With my corrected blocks, I am very happy. Also, I learned a lesson. Look at the finished quilt before you start to make one like it.
