Default I would like some feedback: modern quilt - wonky embroidery?

I have done some modern blackwork purchased from emblibrary.com They are fantastic designs and look like this:

My question is this: would wonky blocks look 'unmodern' or not classy enough for this embroidery? I've been thinking about laying it out on black fabric, only putting one pink block in --(embroidered in pink) instead of black for a touch of fun.

Or does that send out mixed messages--like wearing a suit coat with jeans---

Here are some pics:

I was thinking about a setting like this:

The pink represents an embroidered block using pink instead of the black or nonwonky like this picture shows:

Another of my other blocks:

Opinions. I really wanted to use black as the background for drama. I thought throwing in a pink or turquoise block would add excitement and wonky would look 'non stiff' and orderly to add to the modern feel.

So, please give me some feedback. I'm open to your opinions.
