I acquired this piece and thought I would bind it and use as a table runner. There is no story behind it and I couldn't just ignore it since someone has put this much work into it. Each block varies but is close to 16".
It's very pretty. Personally, I would use a plain navy as close as possible to the navy in the runner. I wouldn't want to take the focus off of those squares.
