Just "audition" the thread on the fabrics, and see which one blends in the best, then use that color. That's what I do. I use black, white, cream, tan or light grey, depending on how they audition on my fabric. It probably doesn't matter since no one should see the stitching anyway, but I like my method. We all doing some things just a little bit differently, and the Quilt Police are not going to line up at your door to chastise you over your color selection, I promise!
