A client brought me a "Stitches on the Oregon Trail" top to quilt. She would like the quilting to reflect the time frame of the quilt, which I believe is around 1860-70s. But she does NOT want custom quilting, just an overall/edge-to-edge quilting design. The only thing I can think of from that time frame is Baptist fans or clamshells. Does anyone know of any other overall patterns that would be appropriate? Here is a link to the pattern if you're not familiar with it:
