Sorry to hear about the Bernina. Hopefully it's an easy / not overly expensive repair.
I guess to some the extremely high prices of modern sewing machines is worth it, but it makes no sense to me. Especially due to the fragile nature of electronics and computers used.
Give me mechanical, very little to go wrong.
