The machine would turn on and show the start screen, then go to the welcome screen, then shut off and repeat the procedure over and over. Never fully turning on. She said that they had one other Bernina (same model) do the same thing and after they have used the USB stick to reboot it that it has not happened again.
Apparently the file that starts the machine became corrupted somehow and was just looping over and over, not able to advance to startup. I guess the USB rebooted and corrected the glitch. I am sorry not to be more tech savvy.
I have to say I really am enjoying reading and learning how the Vintage Machine are being restored and returned to use. It is really an art form. So much to learn!
