That is awful! So glad you were right there to take care of it. I'm usually pretty good about unplugging things but not always. I would tell myself I was being paranoid, it wasn't necessary. But now I'll be even better about it. I had heard that appliances like coffee makers could catch fire. That's why I started doing; your story reinforces it! Thanks for posting.
