It's never good to hear sirens. I jump when I hear them fly past my home and it's can be a threesome (police, fire, ambulance) as I am close enough to their dispatch points, and on a county road, that it often is their travel pattern. As for rain ... we get about about 37" per year, including snow. A little trivia for ye the non-snow-knowledgeable one .... it takes ten inches of snow to equal one inch of rain!
