I had bought some fabric to make a quilt using the shadow box pattern. Then I decided that maybe it was calling my name to use it for my twin nieces. I thought I'd split up the fat quarters I had into two different color palettes and make two quilts out of them using a pattern I found online that called for 6 fat quarters per quilt. The pattern appealed to me, but after cutting up the fabric and making the squares, I absolutely dislike this pattern for this material.
To me...it looks like a jumbled mess of fabric. I added sashing to break it up...but I'm not sure it's helped. I had planned on making two quilts using this pattern, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to make a second "mess".
What do you think? I'm almost embarrassed to finish this quilt much less make a second and to give it to my nieces. (Their gonna be 5.)
