I read about this in a thread here (favorite quilting gadget or something) and was ordering from nancy's notions so I decided to give it a try. Wouldn't you know, the very day it arrived I needed to rip a seam. It was a hem so it was not quite as easy as the videos show (since I couldn't hold the top fabric straight up) but it was still seriously easy. I see a lot of quickly ripped seams in my future.

When I finished ripping the seam I used the rubbery end of my
seam fix seam ripper to get the threads out.
