This past Christmas, I surprised 3 grandkids with a Christmas quilt. I just drew names and they were the lucky ones, but I did assure the other 4, that they would get their Christmas quilts in 2014. The first picture is the 3 lucky grands. The girl on the left is a sister to the boy, and the girl on the right is my youngest grand. She will be coming to spend a week with me this spring after school is out, and she will sew up her 13 year old quilt.

So now, since I have retired, I can really get to work on the remaining 4 quilts. So here is my first one. It is only the finished top. I will use white fleece on the back and red thread to quilt it with SID

I love your quilts. I noticed that you said you were going to use fleece for the backing. I'm a rather new quilter and was thinking of using fleece for the backing/batting on a baby quilt. I hand quilt so I was wondering if this would work or if it would be too hard to hand quilt.
