Often you can follow the colors in a picture for great ideas. Use "google images" to look for images of item, animals, trees, flowers, sunsets, nature, whatever, even other quilts that feature specific colors you like.
Here's an example of a topic I posted using a photo as inspiration; you can see a few blocks others made using this idea as well (I have made 12 of these different blocks but have yet to put the quilt together.)
