I was hoping to get opinions on how you like Quilt As You Go if you have tried it before. I am pretty new to quilting and one of my biggest challenges is always how to get a huge, heavy quilt into my little machine and then wrestle with it to make sure my lines stay straight, so quilt as you go is very tempting to me.
I'm planning on trying the version where you machine stitch the front seams together and then hand stitch the back (without sashing). I've never hand stitched before but I have cross stitched for years so I hope it is somewhat similar

I thought about using the version where you quilt the top and batting and then add the backing last so you don't have to hand stitch at all, but that still requires you to stitch in the ditch so the back is held in place, and that defeats my purpose of avoiding wrestling my quilt in the machine.
I would appreciate any advice or experiences you've had with quilt as you go! Thanks!
