Honchey--I am happy your block arrived before you head back north again. A good friend of mine who has lots of 30s fabrics shared for your block...it was the 1st MB I made.
You can't see it in the picture, but the white star part is 3-d. The pattern is called Dresden Star, here is a tutorial I just found when looking for a link to the pattern:

I worked today...first time in 6wks. I found the perfect fabrics for sashing and borders for my MBs. I can't wait to put it together. I hope to cut strips and bating this week so I can take it along to my retreat next week. I am going to try Jan's method of QAYG (quilting top and batting together and then adding a whole backing).
