I have tried regular templates, and also the Wendy Mathson Trimplates. I did ok with regular templates, but I am very pleased with how my quilt turned out using the Trimplates. My quilt is here:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/persona...s-t209159.html . I have recommended this method several times and will continue to do so. My wife and I are confident beginners, but we were able to do this quilt. The rulers give you the accuracy of paper piecing without having to tear paper off.
Storm at Sea is my absolute favorite pattern. I plan to do this pattern again, and I will use the Trimplates. Please keep us updated on what method you choose and post your finished quilt here. I would love to see it.
