My DH is making me one for our barn. He purchased some outdoor wood (not sure what he got) and so far he has it base painted white as I can't decide on the pattern I want. This was one of my Christmas presents from him as I've wanted one for years but have never said anything to him. We went online and did a search for 'barn quilts' and found complete instructions on how to make it. Good luck with yours and be sure and share pictures when its finished.
