I belong to a small group with no dues. We meet in homes and when it's your turn to host you make breakfast for the group. The month before you host you hand out a block to each person and they piece the block for you. I feel this is a great way because you have help making a quilt and it's a memento from the group. We do have to keep the group small because of space but it seems to work out and we do have a few guests who if they like come to meetings until a spot opens up for them to join. When we do charity quilts you supply the materials but this way you do control the cost.
