Skratchie that Singer is WAY up there in price. You can do far better quite easily. I'm a bottom feeder, I tend to go for the lowest possible prices. If you want vintage machines you may want to start hitting your local thrift and second hand stores. Machines are usually pretty cheap in them.

I thought it was really high, but finding vintage machines at a "reasonable price" in the Houston area is a joke. I would L O V E to have a Rocketeer but they are pricey around here. And in thrift shops people think everything is made of gold. I'm always a little jealous of the things I see others pick up from thrift shops in other areas. Even the men's shirts are crazy - $5-7 for a cotton shirt. I can buy a yard of fabric for that at Joann's, sometimes less with coupons.
