My machine has a warning when it gets low on thread in the bobbin. It's pretty accurate on the bobbins wound by the machine but if I use prewound bobbins they seem to have lots more thread on them and the constant reminders that I am low on thread drives me nuts and I eventually run out in the middle of something. Murphy's law, I guess.
