Default Red Chair Re-do

Some time ago, I posted a picture of a chair I recovered and that I had added a small quilted cover to it because I didn’t like the way the chair looked. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t109187.html Well, I needed the chair in a different room and the reds did not go so well with the new room. I didn’t want to recover the chair so I made a new quilt for it. Even tho the photos make it look reddish, it’s actually a dark brownish maroon.
It’s all FMQ ..no piecing (I was in a hurry and taking a break from another couch project). I had 2 sewing machines in for repair and was using my ‘backup’ machine. I do most of my FMQ on my little Juki mechanical machine and I love it. I did all of this one freehand, except for the crosshatching. I used masking tape to stitch the lines for that.
I love the look of pebbling when it is surrounded by echo quilting (makes me think of pebbles with water swirling around it), but I got bored with making them so I changed in midstream and just started winging the echo quilting. And added a few changes just to finish it off and be done with it.
The arms are separate and done with practice feathers. I am very intimidated by feathers and just decided to work at them. They didn’t look great so I added some filler to confuse the eye into not noticing!
As long as no one looks at the back of these 3 pieces, I will take credit for them...all bets are off if you look at the back! I used up all of my partially filled bobbins and paid no attention to what the back was looking like. Anyway, here it is.....
