I wouldn't tie it. If you are required to quilt in 1-1.5 inch spacing, it would take you forever to tie it....plus it would detract from the outstanding work you have done so far. Since your quilting has to be so close, I would feather each triangle. Take a piece of paper and draw the size of your triangle. Draw feathers inside the line with different design loops and see what is best for your free motion quilting. Once you have decided on a design, mark the design with either chalk or white pencil (washable) or brushable.....do two or three, by then, you will know how to do the design without marking.
